Game of Thrones’ Creators Hide Ending Inside Spotify Playlist

Game of Thrones season 8 is coming to a close and many fans of the popular series are wondering where the ending actually is. Game of Thrones has been a cult-classic series since it’s debut on television and fans all over the world tune in every season to see what new developments will happen with the incredibly intense story. Fans of the popular TV series are used to surprises and plot twists however the creators of the show have something in store for fans that they could’ve never expected. Rumors have been circulating that the ending to Games of Thrones Season 8 is hidden within a mysterious Spotify playlist. Those rumors were confirmed when DB Weiss and David Benioff announced that indeed they had hidden the Season 8 ending in a compilation playlist on the streaming platform.


Where to find the playlist

The ending to Game of Thrones Season 8 is said to be hidden in a playlist titled “The End Is Coming,” which the show’s directors released as a tribute to the series ending. The playlist features popular songs like “Power” by Kanye West and “Love Is Blindness” by U2. These songs were precisely chosen by the series directors and they claim that as you continue to listen to the playlist, you’ll eventually stumble upon a song which will reveal the answer to the Season 8 ending.

The playlist features a total of 50 songs and anybody with a Spotify subscription or account can listen to it. When asked about the playlist, Weiss and Benioff said “No one will believe us, but the answer to the season 8 ending is in the playlist” this immediately caused fans of the series to rush over to Spotify.


How this will affect other series

In recent years, many TV shows and popular movies have pulled similar tactics such as hiding secret extras in apps or using cameras to scan barcodes which reveal secrete information. This is a very creative and forward thinking move by the creators of Game of Thrones as interactive television is becoming more prominent in the entertainment industry.

Being that Game of Thrones is such a popular TV series, you can expect to see other major TV networks and series directors follow the leader. This can lead to new ways for fans to experience some of their favorite content by immersing themselves in physical activities that reveal more portions of the show.


Fan Reactions

While many people thought the move was clever and innovative, not all fans of the hit show were pleased. Many people were upset that they had to dig into a Spotify playlist to find the answers they want from the season 8 ending. Some even stated that the move was inconsiderate due to the fact that not all Game of Thrones fans have a Spotify account.  Alternatively, there were fans who were extremely excited about the “mystery” they had to uncover by way of using Spotify.
