The mixing of different genres of music has always been a part of the entertainment industry. Two huge acts in Lil Wayne and Blink 182 have just announced that they will be going on a joint tour this upcoming summer. Lil Wayne and Blink 182 will also be joined by Neck Deep who will be co-headlining and opening all dates on the tour. History Between the Two Acts
This marks the first time that Blink 182 and Lil Wayne have collaborated on a joint project which has many fans very excited. While this isn’t the first time that a major hip-hop act has collaborated with a rock band on a project, this is the first time that a major tour starring both a rapper and rock band has been announced. The dynamic of Lil Wayne’s hard beats and catchy wordplay contrasted against Blink 182’s authentic rock sound is sure to be something special.
Late last year, Lil Wayne performed with the pop group Imagine Dragons at the College football playoff national championship so he definitely has experience collaborating with artists in different genres. Both Lil Wayne and Blink 182 shared posts on social media regarding the newly announced tour.
Pushing Music Forward
Lil Wayne took to Instagram and posted a picture of an old Complex magazine cover that features Blink 182 frontman Travis Barker and Wayne himself.
