Details About the Collaboration

With the deal now confirmed, Rihanna will officially become the first woman of color to be in charge of a LVMH Maison. No longer will artists be limited to streetwear brand and apparel when it comes to product marketing.

Rihanna’s exclusive LVMH collection will be named “Fenty” and is set to be released this upcoming spring. In a post on her Instagram page, Rihanna said the following about her new LVMH collaboration deal, “Big day for the culture, Thank you Mr.Arnault for believing in this little girl from the left side of an island, and for giving me the opportunity to grow with you at LVMH.”

This signals an entirely new era when it comes to high-fashion and entertainers that brands use to promote their product lines. About the new deal with Rihanna, LVMH CEO Bernard Arnault said, “Everybody knows Rihanna as a wonderful singer, but through our partnership at Fenty Beauty, I discovered a true entrepreneur, a real CEO, and a terrific leader.” “She naturally finds her full place within LVMH. To support Rihanna to start up the Fenty Maison, we have built a talented and multicultural team supported by the Group resources. I am proud that LVMH is leading this venture and wish it will be a great success,” he continued to say.

Rihanna is no stranger to high fashion acknowledgments having previously won the coveted and uber-exclusive CFD Fashion Icon Award for her edgy style. In 2014, she became creative director of Puma and released collections of clothing and shoes. She has also created three collections for the British store, River Island. The Fenty collection will feature exclusive pieces crafted and designed by Rihanna herself and a group of stylists from LVMH.
